A Sad Day for Java Security
Posted November 24, 2004 – 1:37 pm by Yakov Shafranovich in TechnologyThe Register and SANS ISC are reporting a major security hole in Java plugin which makes applets work in browsers. This hole allows JavaScript access to stuff which should normally be restricted. ALL BROWSERS utilizing the Java Plugin are affected on ALL platforms including IE, Opera, Mozilla Suite and Firefox. Konquerer seems to be unaffected due to a different way of handling Java.
(On a related note, CERT reported a security hole in Opera’s Java implementation)
