GPL v3: Why the Secrecy?
Posted April 1, 2005 – 1:51 am by Yakov Shafranovich in LinuxGroklaw is carrying a story tonight titled “Hints About GPL3″. Well, I had a rather stupid question - why is it that one of the most popular open source licenses is not being developed in the open?
UPDATE: After exchanging emails with some people, it seems that the draft is being worked on in a closed fashion because of some litigation. However, once the first draft is finished, from that point on the discussion will be open. We’ll see what happens.
